We look forward to seeing you at the 5th Rencontres du Labex ITTEM!

The 5th edition of Labex ITTEM’s Rencontres will be held on November 5 and 6, 2025 at the Alpe du Grand Serre ski resort, at the foot of the Taillefer massif in Isère, France.

The event will take place in the heart of a region caught up in the impacts of global warming and forced to reinvent itself after the closure of its ski lifts announced at the beginning of the summer by the Matheysine Community of Municipalities. At the same time as Sata Group is proposing a solution to resume downhill skiing for the coming winter, citizens and groups are setting up local initiatives, and trying to come up with solutions to maintain year-round life in their mountains, in this context of constrained transition.

The Rencontres 2025 will provide an opportunity to take a collective look at this highly topical issue. The example of this territory will serve as a starting point for discussions between researchers and the various partners of Labex ITTEM, with the aim of reinforcing knowledge sharing and facilitating collaborations in the fields of research and action. In the context of environmental uncertainty affecting many mountain areas, such cooperation seems more necessary than ever.

The Rencontres will include a tour of the station, workshops for reflection and exchange of experience, and a round-table discussion. There will also be time for informal discussions.
