Project life
Living with wolves, from project to exhibition
From September 30 to December 17, 2025, the “Living with Wolves” exhibition, the result of a research project conducted in the Belledonne massif, will be on display in the museographic hall of Grenoble’s Observatoire des Sciences de l’Univers.
How can we grasp the complexity of the effects induced by the presence of wolves in the Belledonne massif, and reconcile human activities and wildlife?
This was the starting point for the Recibiodal research-action-creation project led by geographers Coralie Mounet and Edith Chezel of the Pacte Laboratory (UGA), in partnership with local players: Espace Belledonne, the Fédération des alpages de l’Isère and the Société d’économie alpestre de la Savoie.
Today, the book Habiter avec les loups. Récits d’enquête en Belledonne – published by Libel and illustrated with photographs by Pierre Witt – embodies this work and is the subject of an exhibition, the opening of which will take place on October 23, 2025. The book has also been shortlisted for the Prix du livre de géographie des lycéens et étudiants 2026, to be awarded at the Festival international de géographie de Saint-Dié (Vosges) in autumn 2026.
