Network – Between the water and us
Début du projet : 2024The Réseau project is a creative action-research project designed to co-produce new knowledge on water issues in the mountains in the era of global warming, and in view of the need to fundamentally rethink the way we manage water, and more broadly our relationship with this common asset for humans and living beings.

How can local residents take ownership of the knowledge linked to water-related issues, and how can they actively participate in designing the governance of this common good?
In collaboration with the association La Maison-Ateliers in Cornillon en Trièves and the town of Mens, this research project is carrying out three types of survey: one on the evolution of rainfall and water flow, another on the uses of water, and the last, innovative one, based on creative action research using a methodology developed by philosopher Bruno Latour.
This third part of the survey is carried out by “citizen-investigators” based on their own concerns in their relationship with water: impacts linked to the reduction in available water, water pollution, etc. The researchers involved accompany and complete these citizen surveys, then analyze the results to shed light on the interdependencies between water, the players involved, technical installations, fauna, flora, soil, etc.
The process of carrying out this survey and its results are then rendered in the form of artistic creations (maps, live performances, public agoras) envisaged as a constructive way out of the controversies. This research project is being carried out in collaboration with Sabine Girard, researcher at the Lessem laboratory (Inrae).
