Cobie talks about mountains and climate
As part of the “En route vers l’avenir de le futur de demain” artistic residency program, aimed at raising public awareness of climate change in mid-mountain regions, an exhibition by artist Cobie – with the participation of Bastien Chrétien – will open its doors from December 14, 2022 to January 14, 2023 at the Saint-Marcellin Intercommunal Media Library in Isère.
The project, led by Hugues François of Inrae Lyon-Grenoble-Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, is being carried out in partnership with Grenoble Alpes University, Labex Osug and ITTEM, and the Couvent des Carmes in Beauvoir-en-Royans. Its aim: “Tobreak into the public arena and everyone’s everyday life, to encourage reflection on climate change without resorting to guilt-tripping or moralizing. To nurture the creative process, Cobie will be immersed in the Grenoble scientific community working on mountain issues on the Grenoble campus, and in a mid-mountain region, in Beauvoir-en-Royans.”
The exhibition opening takes place on December 14 at 6.30pm. Workshops for children (aged 8 and over) will be held in conjunction with the exhibition on January 10 and 14, 2023, led by Cobie. Admission to the exhibition is free.
