Agriculture and food in the Bauges: initiating joint reflection
A morning of feedback and exchange will be held on November 8, 2023 at the Châtelard village hall in the Bauges region, on developments in the fields of agriculture and food.
The ” Diversité de l’agriculture et de l’alimentation dans les Bauges:hier, aujourd’hui, demain ” workshop is part of Carine Pachoud’s post-doctoral work for Labex ITTEM.
This research, part of the Transformont project, was carried out in the heart of the Bauges region in Savoie, where diversification of production began in the 1980s, alongside the predominant dairy cattle farming. This diversification was accompanied by citizen initiatives aimed at linking agriculture and food, through the development of marketing structures for local produce.
The first objective of this work was to characterize the visions held by the various players in the area and the relationships they maintain. The next step was to organize a discussion between these stakeholders, with their different visions, with the aim of improving mutual understanding and facilitating sustainable transformations in agriculture and food in the Bauges. This is the aim of the November 8 workshop, at which the results of the study will be presented and discussed. Testimonials from local players and group discussions will also take place. The workshop will be led by a graphic facilitator. It will close with a buffet featuring local products. Participation is by invitation only.
