On the occasion of the 2025 edition of the Pint of Science event, Raphaël Lachello, from the Laboratoire de recherche historique Rhône-Alpes (Larhra), will take part in the Planting trees, is it good for the planet? evening on May 20, 2025 at Vertical’Art (Saint-Martin-d’Hères, Isère). He will present the Forêts alpines en transition research project led by Mikaël Chambru within Labex ITTEM.

Faced with climate change, players in the forestry and timber industry need to change their practices. Between greening their practices and encouraging profitability, how are they adapting to these challenges? Are plantations a viable response?” Raphaël Lachello, an environmental historian, will attempt to answer these questions, alongside Jean-Sébastien Jacquet, in charge of the Sylv’Acctes association’s territorial mission.
