Rethinking mountain tourism: innovation networks and territories

Driven to innovate to stay in the race, mountain resorts are forming networks with multiple partners to offer new services and adapt their offerings to customer expectations: trail stations, aquatic centers, eco-tourist accommodation, multi-service offers…
Following on from a project supported by Labex ITTEM (Innomont), four researchers from the Université Savoie-Mont-Blanc looked at the characteristics of these “innovation networks”, depending on whether they operate in mid-mountain or high-altitude resorts, based on an analysis of nine networks. They recently published their findings in the Revue d’économie régionale et urbaine.
