Nesting in the mountain summer tourism experience
Début du projet : 2020The thesis Dynamiques et enjeux de la nidification dans l’expérience touristique estivale en montagne (Dynamics and challenges of nesting in the mountain summer tourism experience ) is part of the field of experiential marketing, and explores the link between nesting – feeling at home in the tourist destination – and the appropriation of the foundations for pro-environmental behavior in the destination.
Users’ growing interest in natural areas and the mountains has been reinforced by the recent Covid crisis. However, customers with little experience of the mountains are struggling to mobilize the skills they need to appreciate and fully respect these natural areas.
The thesis explores the extent to which different nesting protocols can provide new hikers with the basis for a sensitive and respectful use of natural mountain territories. It will also explore the extent to which attachment to place mobilizes heightened sensitivity to environmental issues.
The thesis proposes to proceed by experimentation with different groups of users in order to test different nesting protocols. The thesis fieldwork will take place in two Alpine countries (France and Switzerland), for a better comparative analysis of the issues and means that can be mobilized to develop efficient nesting.
