Since 2017, with the support of Labex, these workshops have been experimenting with the complementarity of two pedagogical approaches, based on renewed themes: a training sequence entrusted to academic speakers from Labex laboratories, and field days punctuated by meetings and roundtables with local players, creative workshops, observations and surveys.

This year, the field phase (from January 4 to 12, 2021) will be dedicated to the theme of recreational transition in mid-mountain areas, and organized in partnership with the Foyer de ski nordique de Méaudre-Autrans in the Vercors. This orientation is based on an observation drawn from discussions with local players: the range of nature sports activities offered by local clubs and service providers only partially meets environmental, cultural, socio-cultural and educational challenges, due to the fragmentation of disciplines (mountain biking, trail running, Nordic skiing, etc.) and a dominant focus on technicality and performance.

The aim of the workshop is to propose the concept of a “mountain school” which, while promoting sporting activities, will provide a framework conducive to the transmission of knowledge, practices and values around the objectives of environmental responsibility, autonomy, social ties and territorial anchorage. Health conditions permitting, a round-table discussion on this subject will be organized as a parallel event to the Autrans Mountain Film Festival.
