Inauguration of the Romanche-Gavet power plant: a historian’s perspective

To mark the inauguration of the new Romanche-Gavet hydroelectric power station in Isère, Anne Dalmasso (Larhra), a lecturer and researcher in contemporary history at Grenoble Alpes University and a specialist in white coal, was invited by France Bleu Isère this morning to talk about the history of hydroelectricity. An energy ” that can be considered renewable, although like other renewable energies, it can have significant impacts on the region (…)”. A “less visible” impact, of course, since the new power station, which took ten years to build, was dug out of the ground.
