Agenda
Alpweek, three days of transition
This year’s AlpWeek “Alps in Transition”, coordinated by the main Alpine organizations working for mountain protection and sustainable development, will take place from September 5 to 7 in Brig, Switzerland.
“There is no single solution, but rather many different approaches to ecological transition in the Alps. Quality of life, low-carbon lifestyles and citizen participation will be at the heart of the solutions we develop during Alpine Week,” announce the organizers. On the program: conferences, interactive workshops, meetings between young people, excursions to the Simplon Pass and the Aletsch glacier area, hiking on the Via Alpina…
On September 6, the event will welcome Kirsten Koop – co-coordinator of Labex ITTEM and researcher at the Pacte laboratory of Grenoble Alpes University – for the first conference on the theme of citizen initiatives in the French Alps, echoing the Transformont research project conducted within the Labex.
On the same day, Thomas Spiegelberger from Inrae will lead the session “Transition, a conceptual and operational process” – co-written with Raffaella Balzarini – echoing Carine Pachoud’s post-doctorate Transition et territoires de montagne.
