Innov’Montagne, game-tested transition

16

The aim of this workshop is to develop inverted pedagogy through the creation, by students from USMB’s UFR Sciences et Montagne and Chambéry’s IUT, of an innovative training medium: an educational “serious game” on the theme of innovation for transitions in mountain territories.

The Innov’Montagne game takes the form of a card game, played in groups of four or five people, and proceeds as follows:

  • Welcome to uncertainty!
  • Consider what you can do
  • Imagining innovation
  • Building the project approach
  • Communicate

This game, which draws on previous experience of social innovation, will be used to run training sessions on how to design projects in mountain areas, taking into account their specific resources, vulnerabilities and sustainability issues. Innov’Montagne will examine a range of issues facing these regions.

The game can also be used to run participatory and creative workshops on the initiative of local players, citizens’ groups and associations involved in transition issues. It can also be used to cross-train in an interdisciplinary context, or experiment in an interprofessional setting…

Innov’Montagne is designed to serve both educational purposes and the support of individual and collective initiatives, with the game’s methodology and content adapted to the educational project or experimental context.
