Mountain forests: launch of a Living Lab

© Mikaël Chambru

On November 25, the Forêts alpines association, Inrae (Lessem/Biofora) and Labex ITTEM will be hosting a meeting to present the Mountain Forests Living Lab, launched on June 7 in the Hautes-Alpes.

By strengthening collaboration between research and local players, the aim of the Living Lab is to find new solutions for adapting mountain forest socio-ecosystems to climate change.

This Living Lab brings together researchers in the humanities, social sciences and forestry, forest users and all players in the forestry-wood industry. This methodology is in line with the transdisciplinary research approaches that Labex ITTEM has been pursuing for several years “, explains Mikaël Chambru, scientific coordinator of the UGA Foundation’s Research Chair Alpine Forests in Transition, which is attached to Labex ITTEM. This meeting will be an opportunity to gather everyone’s expectations and lay the foundations for joint work.
