Border surveillance: the counter-investigation

Researchers Cristina Del Biaggio and Sarah Bachellerie, from the laboratory Pacte (Grenoble Institute of Urban Planning and Alpine Geography), recently published a counter-investigation, for the Border Forensics association , into the circumstances of the death of Blessing Matthew in Durance (Hautes-Alpes) on May 7, 2018.

This work is directly linked to their research work, in particular the thesis conducted by Sarah Bachellerie Surveillance and migration controls at the Haut-Alpine borders, who was invited to talk about her work in the program A l'air libre de Médiapart on May 30.

The question of risks linked to border crossings by migrants was one of the subjects addressed during the 2nd Mountain Research School organized in Ecrins from June 26 to July 2, in the presence of the two researchers.
