Offered by Labex ITTEM and OSUG, the Mountain Research School is a place for doctoral training in interdisciplinarity between humanities and social and Earth and Environmental Sciences in mountain areas. Registrations for this 3rd edition are open.

Organized in the form of a roaming in Haute Romanche from June 25 to 30, 2023 , this initiative articulates research, development and training around axes common to the two Labex: the trajectories of territories facing environmental, social and economic risks & methods observation of coupled Earth/Ecosystems/Societies dynamics.

Doctoral students observe, experiment and exchange in situ with researchers and local stakeholders, the Jardin du Lautaret being the arrival point for this itinerant training.

The theme chosen for this year is Traveling the mountain: flows, trajectories, interactions . The 2023 edition will be associated with a performance of the play Death of a Mountain by the company of Non-Aligned, at the end of which the doctoral students will have the mission of organizing a debate with the actors and the public. This experience will allow them to combine their expertise on the future of mountain areas.

This training offer is primarily aimed at doctoral students from Labex ITTEM and OSUG partner laboratories, but is open to all doctoral students whose research subject has a direct link with the mountain. The Labex covers the costs of supervision, accommodation and catering with the exception of transport to Grenoble (departure by bus from Grenoble).

From a collaborative research perspective, the Mountain Research School contributes to the construction of the Long term socio ecosystem research (LTSER) Lautaret-Oisans platform within the European eLTER project.

Pre-registrations are open until June 1, 2023 on the Labex Osug website .
